Editor's review
This software utility lets you browse site details downloaded offline.
Portable Offline Browser is an offline browser/downloader. It can stay in a Flash/USB drive and run directly from it. You would be able to carry data around and browse them at your convenience. Flash drive with the tool installed can be inserted into any Windows system and one can get data without any adjustments anymore. All your Projects and downloaded files will be in the drive and can be viewed anywhere on another system. As it is off-line, the websites you get to see are really a snapshot of them in time. Over a short period of time not much changes are expected to happen. Other side of the issue is the site might change and the content you wanted goes away. But, with this tool you have a copy for keeps.
Video or audio content streamed to your system also could be saved and played back at the same quality, when you want to play the stuff. After download you can watch the file from your hard disk. The downloads are of highest possible quality even on a slow modem Internet connection. The export feature allows you to share and transfer files, or burn them to CD in normal or Autorun mode. Because the viewing is through a browser, you can actually plug in the drive into any of Window, Mac or Linux based machine and view the data/content stored. The interface is well laid out, making it easy to use; even a complete beginner should be able to start using it quickly. It is actually a take-off on the Outlook like interface. Part of the screen lets you manage the downloads. This is a good product, has useful features and could be very handy in your area of interest.
